2.                    Description of the merger

The notification concerns the proposed acquisition by Kraft Foods Global, Inc. of the global biscuit, snacks and cereals business (the “Danone Biscuit Business”) from Groupe Danone S.A. (the “Proposed Acquisition”).  The Danone Biscuit Business includes the sale and production of sweet and savoury biscuit products, snacks and bread substitute products.  Its major brands include LU, Prince, TUC and Cracotte.

The biscuits market in Singapore.

Interested parties are invited to submit their views on the Application. When submitting confidential information, interested parties should take note of the procedures outlined in the CCS Guidelines on Merger Procedures.
