My internship with CCS was eye-opening and fulfilling. I had the opportunity to work on many different types of cases, gaining a deeper understanding of the competition and consumer policy enforcement work in Singapore. The staff at CCS were welcoming and encouraging, and I had a great experience.

Interning at CCS for the last 3 months has been meaningful and eye-opening. I gained a greater understanding of competition economics and policy and received many opportunities to work on a variety of interesting projects. The opportunities to apply my theoretical knowledge in the field of economics to real-world situations were plentiful and thought-provoking. Additionally, this experience was bolstered by the guidance from my helpful and approachable mentors, who provided valuable feedback and advice regularly while ensuring that I was actively involved in the projects. This internship at CCS has truly been a memorable and insightful experience.

The internship in CCS made me appreciate why we do what we do here on a daily basis. It has allowed me to make my learning come alive from the CCS cases I have learnt in class to getting my hands on with research on individuals and undertakings that I would not have been able to have access to had it not been for this internship. The most memorable part of this internship would be engaging in research on how to improve merchant protection for a publicly-used Guidelines for e-marketplaces, and also how part of my research could have been useful for an ongoing case which has since been closed on this last day of my internship.
Beyond the work domain, what left me with the deepest was how close-knit the entire organization is. Regardless of position, everyone would just smile and say “Hi” at each other and have small talk in the pantry. The Sports Wednesdays also allowed us to gel together and have fun through sports. The lawyers from the LE Department made me feel very welcome and they would often invite us to have lunch or coffee, or even buy pastries for us. I am deeply grateful to my RO and all the other lawyers, CCS support staff whom I have crossed paths with.

I really enjoyed my time interning at CCS. My 3 months here have exposed me to the complex work that the CCS does on a daily basis and have really enhanced my understanding of consumer protection issues. My colleagues and mentors were really friendly and approachable, providing me with very useful guidance throughout my internship projects. These projects were interesting and enriching as well! Though the scope may differ between interns, I was personally given the opportunity to research on different consumer protection issues and also present my findings to the organisation. I am very grateful for my experience as an intern at CCS.
