How would you describe the culture at CCS?
The culture here is earnest and mission-driven, with a clear focus on ensuring fair competition and protecting consumers. It’s a place where the work is meaningful, and the team is dedicated. There are occasional shuffles as people come and go, each bringing fresh energy before moving on to their next chapter.
Having been in the private sector, what would you say is the key difference working in CCS?
A key difference is working in larger teams and having a more layered decision-making structure at CCS, which gives rise to a greater plurality of views.
CCS provides equal and diverse opportunities for our people to grow, both personally and professionally. What development opportunities were you given in CCS?
CCS supports officers in their learning and development through both structured programs and on-the-job learning. In my time here, I was fortunate enough to attend a course on economics for competition law as well as participate in conferences and seminars, which allowed for insightful exchanges with practitioners and colleagues from various jurisdictions.
If you have to give advice to a new recruit, what would it be?
Come in with a clear sense of why you’re here and know that the work requires grit and a long-term view. Patience and resilience are key. Staying curious and balancing dedication with a practical mindset will help you appreciate this uniquely rewarding experience through the inevitable ups and downs.
