1. The Applicants
This notification is made jointly by the parties to the joint venture, Samwoh Resources Pte Ltd (“Samwoh”), Mount Kawi Pte Ltd (“Mount Kawi”), Poly Resources Pte Ltd (“Poly Resources”) and Zhan Chang Holdings Pte Ltd (“Zhan Chang”) (collectively, the “Parties”).

2. Description of the merger
This notification is in relation to the creation of a joint venture by the Parties for the initial purposes of trading and procuring construction materials, specifically 20mm granite aggregates, and subsequently for the marketing and distribution of such construction materials independent and alongside the Parties’ marketing companies. The Parties submit that given the number of competitors in the market with strong competitive advantages, intense price competition, strong countervailing buyer power by customers, low barriers to entry and expansion, and other competitive characteristics of the relevant market, the joint venture, when carried into effect, will not result in a substantial lessening of competition.

3. Relevant good(s) or service(s) involved
The regional supply of all construction aggregates, or on a narrower basis, the Singapore market for the supply of 20mm granite aggregates from Malaysia and Indonesia.
