19th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC)

The 19th Meeting of the ASEAN Experts Group on Competition (AEGC) and other related meetings were held from 3 to 7 April 2017 in Yangon, Myanmar. CCS played an active role at the meeting and discussed plans for several new initiatives and projects that it would lead under the ASEAN Competition Action Plan. These include developing a competition compliance checklist for businesses in ASEAN, organising capacity-building workshops, and hosting staff attachments from competition authorities in ASEAN, among others. 

At the meeting, the chairmanship of the AEGC for 2017 was also handed over from Laos to Myanmar. In 2018, Singapore will assume chairmanship of the AEGC.
