CCCS Chief Executive Meets JFTC Chairman in Virtual Meeting

JFTC CCCS Meeting 15 Sep 2021

Ms Sia Aik Kor, Chief Executive of CCCS and Mr Kazuyuki Furuya, Chairman of the Japan Fair Trade Commission (“JFTC”) affirmed the close collaborative relationship between both agencies in a virtual meeting on 15 September 2021. CCCS and JFTC have worked together in many areas since entering into an MOU in 2017. 

During the meeting, Ms Sia and Mr Furuya updated each other on the competition policy and law developments in their respective countries, and discussed ways to deepen the collaborations between both agencies, in particular, in sharing insights and experiences on dealing with competition issues in digital markets. They also discussed issues pertaining to the 16th East Asia Top Level Officials Meeting and the 13th East Asia Conference on Competition Law and Policy that both agencies are hosting, together with the Asian Development Bank Institute.
