CCS at the 1st ASEAN-EU Heads of Competition Authority Roundtable
5 May 2026
At the 1st ASEAN-EU Heads of Competition Authority Roundtable held on 5 May 2026 in Manila, Philippines, CCS Chief Executive Mr. Alvin Koh spoke on building and sustaining high-performance competition agencies and fostering a competition culture in government and society.
CCS outlined three key areas of focus. First, on enhancing internal capabilities, he highlighted CCS's adoption of digital tools and AI to strengthen enforcement effectiveness. He also spoke about streamlining internal processes such as the merger review process and a proposed new settlement process to enable more strategic resource allocation, as well as CCS's active engagement with global and regional competition agencies to share best practices and collaborate on emerging issues.
Second, Mr Koh discussed CCS's efforts to support business compliance through a suite of guidance documents and practical tools such as the AI Markets Toolkit, which helps businesses self-assess their compliance with Singapore's competition and consumer protection laws.
Third, he spoke about promoting a competition culture across diverse stakeholders — by serving as a strategic partner to government agencies through collaborative market studies and competition advice, organising cross-agency competition dialogues, and conducting frequent outreach and targeted engagement with businesses and industries.
