CCS Seeks Public Feedback on the Proposed Acquisition of NatSteel by Zenith Singapore

1.             The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (“CCS”) is inviting public feedback on the proposed acquisition of NatSteel Holdings Pte. Ltd. (“NatSteel”) by Zenith Steel (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (“Zenith Singapore”) (collectively, the “Parties”) (the “Proposed Transaction”).

2.             CCS accepted the application from the Parties on 15 September 2026 for a decision on whether the Proposed Transaction would infringe section 54 of the Competition Act 2004.

3.             Zenith Singapore is a private company incorporated in Singapore and a wholly owned subsidiary of Zenith Steel Group Company Limited. Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Super Steel Pte. Ltd. and Super Bend Pte. Ltd., Zenith Singapore processes and distributes reinforcing steel products used in the construction industry.

NatSteel

4.             NatSteel is a company incorporated in Singapore, with a presence across Southeast Asia. It provides steel products and solutions to the construction industry, including processing and distribution of reinforcing steel products, as well as metal recycling.

5.             The Parties are in the business of processing and distribution of reinforcing steel products in Singapore. Specifically, they both supply steel couplers, cut and bend reinforcing steel bars, prefabricated cages and reinforcing steel bars.

Public Consultation

6.             CCS is inviting public feedback on the Proposed Transaction from 21 September 2026 to 5.00pm on 2 October 2026. CCS is interested to hear views on the impact of the Proposed Transaction on competition in the relevant markets.
