Competition in the Healthcare Sector in Singapore - An Explorative Case Study

This explorative case study explores the healthcare sector in Singapore from a competition law perspective. It focuses its analysis on hospital care, more specifically on in-patient care (i.e. mainly secondary care). The research explores how far the notion of undertaking is applicable to hospital in-patient services in Singapore and whether it raises any potential issues with competition law application in Singapore.

This paper is authored by Dr Andrea Katharina Gideon. Dr Gideon was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore’s EW Barker Centre for Law & Business (“NUS EWBCLB”) from August 2015 to February 2017.
